This was going to be a great video until i screwed up somehow. While driving it flops open and closed. Cover filler opening with small cloth paper towel etc to keep from dropping any foreign objects into filler neck. This was one of the first things we noticed with this truck the floppy fuel door.

This is a common problem on ford f 150 2004 2008. Top view of housing and tab placement. Bottom view of housing and tab placement. The last time i fueled up i noticed the fuel door will not stay closed.

Here is an amazo. It s a super cheap design but a small screw will fix it right up. Remove the 3 8mm bolts surrounding filler neck. I live in one of those weird states in which it is illegal to fill up your own vehicle so didn t see what the attendant did or didn t do whilst filling it up.

Open fuel door and remove the easy fuel trim ring from the fuel filler neck.
